A hidden gem in Chadwell Heath, Romford

Our home is based near Romford and Chadwell Heath, and is part of the Little Heath Conservation Area

“My father has been in Rowallan House for four months and has settled in well despite his reluctance to go into care. This is due to the staff who are all very welcoming and caring to both residents and relatives.

During visits, I have been able to observe first-hand how good the staff are with all residents. We all really appreciate that one of the team has been allocated to my father as this provides a sense of continuity - many thanks to all at Rowallan House.”

The Home

We have 41 furnished bedrooms that we encourage residents to decorate so they feel cosy and like home. There are four lounges where residents can relax, socialise, see visitors and enjoy activities, and we have secure, landscaped gardens with patios. If your loved one enjoys gardening, there’s a designated space for growing, and the paths have been designed to be accessible for wheelchair users.

Bedrooms

We have a choice of rooms including en-suites and rooms that overlook the garden. Rooms are furnished but have space for personal possessions as well. There are TV and telephone points in each room and two serviced lifts.

Bathrooms

Bathrooms with shower units and specialist bath facilities are available for people with disabilities.

Meals

Our on-site chefs cook three nutritious meals a day and snacks are also available. We can prepare dishes on request for tea time meals so your loved one doesn’t have to go without their favourite foods and we cater for a range of dietary requirements.

We can also provide room service if your loved one would rather eat in their room, and for those special occasions we’re happy to lay on meals or refreshments for visitors and family.

Activities & outings

We have a dedicated events and activities coordinator making sure there’s never a dull moment at Rowallan House. We run quizzes, bingo and other games, as well as activities to get your loved one moving, drama, arts and crafts. We also enjoy sharing life stories and activities that encourage our residents to share their life histories.

Outings are arranged on a regular basis and include trips to the seaside, pub lunches, shopping trips and going to the theatre. We hold an annual summer fete in conjunction with the National Care Homes Open Day, as well as other events in our garden throughout the year.

Maintenance

Rooms are equipped with smoke detectors, 24-hour nurse calling systems, and we have a full-time member of staff responsible for maintenance.

Services

We have hairdresser and barber facilities on-site, as well as laundry and cleaning services. We can also arrange for extra services such as chiropody, physiotherapy, and visits from the GP, dentist and optician.
